Gordon Wants Your DNA, 2008
Digital print, chewing gum

Artist's statement:
"The balance between an individual's privacy and the interests of national security is something that has interested me for some time. I feel that the Government's growing appetite for the collection and retention of British citizens' individual information should not continue unchecked or unchallenged. By sticking your gum onto Gordon Brown's face you unwittingly surrendered your DNA (obtained from the chewing gum after chewing). The aim of this piece is to provoke thought and discussion as to how comfortable you are with having your DNA extracted and filed by people you don't know."
