Artist's statement:
“I’ve been ill, very ill, throat like broken glass, fevered up, hallucinating even, looped chatter going round and round my head. Which means I haven’t been able to produce the work I intended to and I might not even be here tonight, or will I? Hello?
Anyway, never mind, here’s something I made earlier.
This little film type thing captures a recent weekend with my family. It was a weekend of play and sun. Two great things. Two things that I know I need more of.
There are 531 shots in this film, taken with an iphone, which is quite challenging. But then this isn’t really about megapixels.
Obviously it’s a lot of my kids, which is very personal to me. But kids are good. They love to play, they imagine and create, they tell stories, and they say brilliant things. They have energy and enthusiasm. They see endless possibilities. They’re never negative.
Anyway, play I think is partly what tonight is about, and that’s a great thing. Get everyone playing more.”
